Trial Island Paddle | Oak Bay Marina 

Launch right from our Oak Bay Marina docks and paddle out into some of the richest wildlife water in Victoria. This is a special tour, and one of our favourites to guide.

We’ll head out past the bird sanctuary and through the magic of Discovery Island Marine Park, with birdlife all around us as we make our way to Trial Island. Along the way, keep your eyes on the water and the rocks. Harbour seals are a regular sight, sea lions haul out and make themselves known, and if you are extremely lucky, a whale might pass by. It’s rare, but it does happen, and nobody forgets it.

This stretch of coast is known for strong currents, which is exactly why you’ll want a local guide. Our expert guides know these waters well. They read the tides, choose the safest line, and keep the group comfortable and together while you take it all in.

We’ll dress you in a drysuit before we launch, so you stay warm and dry and can focus on the view instead of the chill.

With around 3.5 hours on the water, this adventure is designed for paddlers with some previous kayaking experience. Due to constantly changing Sea State and Weather we will only be running these on certain days at certain times to best enjoy your time on the water.
