Size charts used and how the matching works
  • All deck sizes are matched against the cockpit measured to the outside of the rim. Length leads, width is checked second.
  • Fits means both measurements sit inside the maker's range. Try it on means it misses by a few centimetres; shock-cord and nylon decks often still work. Wet the rim when trying a neoprene deck.
  • Kayaks marked estimated only publish the inside opening, so 6 cm was added. Measure the boat if the result is close to a size break.
  • P&H doesn't publish Volan cockpit dimensions; it is matched from the R4 rating UK dealers list for it. Wig dimensions are taken as the inside opening.
  • Level Six Mariner, Navigator, Lagoon and the cockpit cover list only the largest rim each size fits, so the tool picks the smallest size that clears the cockpit. Level Six prices are their CAD list prices; ORS doesn't stock Level Six decks yet.
  • Reed Keyhole C has no published range; the one used here is approximate, from reported fits (Delphin 150 at 88 × 49 cm, 34.6 × 19.3").
  • Palm chart is the current neoprene chart (R2 to R6) and the nylon chart (N3 to N7). Carried sizes reflect Shopify on Oct 19, 2026.
