For more than two decades, Amanda has been sustainably harvesting, by hand, wild, edible seaweeds. She shares her passion for the wild seaweeds of her coastline and their continued health with a diverse audience. The foundational focus of Swinimer’s teaching & presenting is sustainability and respect for the rare ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. Swinimer has taught at post-secondary institutions, public schools, through private venues and is an experienced and engaging international speaker.

Since 1981, We have been Victoria's premier kayak and watersports shop and currently operate tours, rentals, courses, and camps to fulfill our mission of "getting you out there". Ocean River has a long and rich history in the sea kayak industry, including the popularization of sea kayaking in the Pacific Northwest. Ocean River Adventures employs Paddle Canada/Sea Kayak Guide Alliance of British Columbia trained instructors and guides in order to give you the safest and highest quality tours possible.
