BC Marine Trails is a non-profit and charitable organization working together to help secure long term public access to the BC coast.
The BCMT is dedicated to the design and development of a network of marine access points and campsites and day use areas along the entire BC Coast. This is being done in association with various levels of government, First Nations and other stakeholders in order to ensure continued coastal access by kayak, canoe, and other small, non-motorized and motorized boats.
BC Marine Trails Code of Conduct Video
The BCMT has released a 5-minute video outlining codes of conduct for people wanting to explore the 25,000 km of coastline, over 1400 launch sites, campsites, and more. As stewards of this network, it is our collective responsibility to engage with these natural spaces sustainably, showing respect for both the environment and fellow users.
BC Marine Trails Interactive Map
The BCMT website offers a number of resources for those wanting to explore the BC coast, the primary item being their map, which is a database of the campsites, access points and day use sites. You can use the search box on the map to find these sites, or you can simply zoom into a area you are interested in and find the sites that way. The map is continuously being updated as they negotiate and discuss issues with the various stakeholders. It is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to plan a trip anywhere on the BC coast.
